In an English Garden - in April (III)
A couple of pictures of those yellow primulas native to the UK. On the left towards the bottom are Cowslips, Primula veris. The paler flowers are the Oxlip, Primula elatior. In addition there are a few Primroses, Primula vulgaris (not shown).
Towwards the back of the picture is a darker plant which is probably a hybrid. 
In the middle of this picture there appears to be another hybrid. I know one hybrid is the "Polyanthus" and another one I have seen in the wild is the False Oxlip P.veris x P.vulgaris. Whatever their parentage they may a lovely patch of sunshine in the spring!
