Helleborus x sternii covered in a light frosting on a January morning. I grew a few plants from seed and although my plants have the faul of hanging their heads a bit too much, the reddish suffision to the leaf stems and on the lime green flowers is enchanting. |

I think this is either a chance seedling or one of my own seed raised plants, it looks like H. argutifolius, one of the parent species of H. x sternii above. |

I took this picture of Hellobrus orientalis hybrid (now being called H x hybridus it seems) at Wisley Garden. I found some plants in flower there, about a month ahead of mine. I hope to have a selection of pictures from my garden on the February/March pages. |
