This page starts off with a quartet of flowers from the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Wisley. Above left one of the many Day Lilies (Hemerocallis). I find some of these pretty, but prefer them in other people's gardens..hate that foliage! Right, another plant that I don't grow, Agapanthus.
Below right two varieties of Geranium wallichianum, set against a background of a golden leaved abies. The pink one is probably "Syabru", the blue one "Buxton Blue". These are wonderful low growing plants that flower from July until October. Below left, another geranium, unfortunately it had no label. |

Above left, a new addition to the shady border, a Heuchera with bronze leaves and white flowers. Unfortunately I have already misplaced the label!
Above right a purple Clematis viticella Etoile Violette mixed with a yellow climbing "Bleeding Heart" Dicentra macrocapnos. I grew the latter from seed and am rather proud of it.
Also from seed on the right, Knautia macedonica, an easy scabious that grows to about 3-4 feet. In the wild it is variable in colour, the normal form in cultivation is this rich, deep crimson.
