The two pictures on the left are from my garden the one on the right above is from my mum and dad's. Different soils but two different styles within an overall informal style.
June is the month when the Aquilegias come into flower (top left). When I arrived here about 10 years ago all the Aquilegias were double and a uniform pink. I introduced just one single purple plant and spawned a wonderful mixture of pinks and blues.
On the right a lovely combination of grasses, hostas and azalea.
Above right, my garden again. It's hard to make out the individual plants but there is a mixture of a dark red Astrantia, Geranium phaeum Samabor, aquilegia with a Choiysia in the background.
A quartet of Hostas. Unfortuantely the only one I can identify is "Wide Brim" top right. In my garden there is a huge population which itself supports a large population of frogs. In the picture bottom left the plant providing the black leaved foil is Viola labradorica.
